At Addington . yards to-day there were moderate entries of stock in all departments except fat cattle and pigs, ami tkero was a good attendance. Tbvre was again a good demand for store sheep. Competition was much keener all through the sole than it was last week, butchers being the principal buyers. Extra prime wethers, 28s 3d to 33 s od; prime, 23s to 275; others, 20s to 22s 6d ; prime ewes, 20s to 22s 10d; medium, 17s to 19s 6d ; nged and light, 13s to 16s ; merino wethers, 14s 6d to I6s 9d. Fat Cattle— The entry totalled 2*7 h«ad, of which only a small proportion was reaHy prune. The bidding was slack at the opening, but afterwards improved, and though the sale was somewhat irregular the previous week's rates were maintained: A line of 12 sfceers from Mr W. F. M. BncHey (Hoo Hay) mads £7 10s to £11 17s 6d; 10 steers from Mr. G. 6 Holmes (Halswell), £9 15s to £11 10s ; and 7 heifers from Mt. J. Deans (Homebush), £5 17s 6d to £7 10s; other steers brought £6 5s to £11 17s 6d ; heifers, £4 17s od to £7 15s (extra to £9) ; cows, £4 10s to £7 10s (extra to £8 15s)— equal to 21s to 23s for prime, 19s to 20s for medium, and 17s to 18s 6d for cow and inferior, per 1001b. A fair yarding of veal calves sold at 7s 6d to^s. Store and Dairy Cattle— Only a few odd lots of store cattle were yarded, and there was_very little demand. There was much better enquiry for dairy cows, and the moderate_yarding met with a good sale. Best sorts mado £7 to £8 15s; others, £* 10s to £6 10s.
