.. WELLINGTON RUGBY UNION. The Management Committee of tho Wellington Rugby Union met las,t night. Present: Messrs. King, Stevens, M'lvenzie, Wylie, O'Sullivan, M'lntyre, Weir, Hunter) Brown, and G. F. C- Campbell. Mr. King was elected Chairman for the year. A letter was received from Mr. J. P. Firth, thanking the Rugby Union for his election as Vice-President, and 'forwarding a donation of £1 In. The City Council wrote granting the use of tho Newtown Park on tho same conditions as lost year, and the use of the Nairn-street Reserve was -anted for junior football. An application .or use of the Basin Reserve waa refused. Mr. J. W. Davidson wroto granting tho use of his section at Miramar free of charge. The Secretary was instructed to convey the union's thanks. The Petono Council's offer of grounds wn# accepted. The Petono Workshops' employees were granted a ground for Easter on tho iwual terms. An application from an Upper Hutt club for affiliation was held over pending enquiries regarding grounds. The Hardware Club was granted a ground, and permission to pluv its annual match with tho Chrielchurcli Hardware Club. Permiasiii!i was granted the Poncke Club to piny nfc Napier, and the Selwyn Club to play at Pahiatua, subject to the union's approval of the nun«gor. The Oriental Club was granted a ground for JCaster Saturday, on ■which to play the Institute (Pahiierston) Olub. A number of clubs forwarded applications for entries in the chninuionehips.
