* CHANGE IN LEADERSHIP. [PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Brisbane, 12th Mny. At a meeting of the Labour Party to-day Mr. A. Dawson, the senior member for Charters Towers, Avas elected leader, in place of Mr. T. Glassey, the member for B nnda berg. Mr. Glasse}', Avho has renounced to some extent the policy of the Labour Part}', Avas pot elected to any oilice. [Mr. Thomas Glassey had been leader since the inception of the Queensland Labour Parly, but during the past fcAV years there has been a growing feeling in the Party that he had los.t his old fighting spirit, and was not sufficiently progressive for the position. During the last session of Parliament it was openly stated by members of the Party thac their leader had missed several opportunities of defeating the Government through not making a decisive move at the right time. The neAV leader, Mr. " Andy " DaAvson, avlio is also an old member of the Party, is a miner, and has represented Charters ToAvers for several years. He was looked upon in tho House as an able- man than Mr Glassey, being stronger in initiative and more incisive in debate. His colleague as representative of Charters Towers is another Labour member (Mr. Dunsford), and at the recent election they respectively polled 2341 and 2265 votes, as against 1255 for the Ministerial candidate, Mr. Paull)]
