♦ THE HEIR TO A BARONY SENT TO GAOL. CRUELTY BY A CLERGYMAN AND HIS "WIPE. [PEESS ASSOCIATION.] (Received October 22, 10.10 a.m.) London, 21st October. The Hon. Philip Benedict Joseph Petre, brother and heir-presumptive of BatonPetre, has been sentenced to six months' imprisonment for cashing worthless cheques. The Rev. Mr. Gowau, Vicar cf Runton, Norfolk, and his wife have each been sentenced to four months' imprisomneut for ill-treating their orphan nieces.
