A CANDID FRIEND OF THE GOVERNMENT.
* [by telegraph — press association.] Christchurch, This Day. Mr. Montgomery, member for Ellesmere, addressed his constituents at Southbridge last night. He had a good reception, and keenly criticised the Government in its action where, in the opinion of the Left Wing, it was opposed to the interests of true Liberalism. A vote of thauks and confidence was given to him.
