Tho attention of eottlera at Haywarda, Belmont, and Toita is directed to an advertisement convening a meeting of candidates and otheradesirousof joining the Uero'iunga Mounted Rifles. It is tho intention of the officers to make the corps the crack mounted corps of tho colony, so that those interested in joining' should attend the meeting. The members of tho Hutt and Petone detaohment of the corps will assemble on Monday evening for Government pa-ade. There was a capital muster of the Wellington Navals at Mount Cook last niylit, for gunnery drill, under Lieut-Commander Campbell, and Lieuts. Bell and Hume. The sun souads were under tho tuition ot tho pormanont instructors. The oaptain announced that shooting cempetitions would be held on Saturday next at the Polhill Gully lonij range, 200, 500, and 600 yards, all classes ; ammunition on Friday evening at the Drillshed. Nomina' ions for cutter races olose on Sunday morning next at 10 o'clock, at the Boat Station.
