The party in the boat, after a vain effort to beat up against the fieroo squalls, deoided to turn and run baok to their camping place for uholtor, but whilst attempting to jibe the boat capsized Bui Ran sank at onoe, and was seen no more. Vitolli was carried away by the wavcß, and was also lost. Hall could not swim a stroke, bo simply olutohed the boat and watched the Bhore, which was only some 500 yards distant. Half-way to laud the sight of groat waves beating on tho steop wall of rookß seemed to scare him, for ho turned back to regain the boat, but the swim against wind and waves was too nnioh. He also succumbed. Young Hall meauwhilo clung to the boat. Not hoing a swimmer bo was not tempted to loavo it After being buffoUed by tho waves for about two hours aud t.iroo-quartors, he was rescued in a very exhausted condition by two fishermen, but soon revived sufficiently to tell tho story of the accident.
