A SUGGESTION.
♦ TO THI XDITOB. Sib— Will you kindly ask, through the medium of yonr oolumns, with referenoe to Christmas exoursion to Lyttelton on Wednesday next, the authorities' kindest consideration in delaying the ss. Takapuna four or five hours later than 5 p.m., as per advertised time of sailing;, ao as to give persons whose business detains them until 9 or 10 p.m. a ohanoe of getting away from town for a few days? If tha Union Company oan only grant this favonr, I feel sure they will gain the esteem and patronage cf a number of the oommnnity who would readily avail themselves of tha opportunity of the trip, bnt who, under the present oircumsUnoes, will have to deny themselves the pleasure — shop assistants, for instance, not caring to inconvenience their employers through asking leave so early on suoh a busy evening. I am, 40., Anxious.
