» •ADMIRAL FIELD WILL EXPLAIN. f UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION ] London, 25th July. Admiral Field will make a personal explanation in the House of Commons on Friday with reference to the statement recently made by him to the effeot that members of tho Victorian Assembly were amenable to bribery. It is understood that he admits the statement was based on information given him by certain Victorian squatters so far baok as the year 18S2, to the effeot that the latter hod bribed members of the Assembly. No names or dates were mentioned.
