The eleotions to the Legislative Assembly have resulted in the return of 23 Ministerialists, 8 Opposition members, and 1 doubtful. Stdnet, Ist June. The New t-outh Wales Government has dismissed Captain R. R. Armstrong, late R.N., from his position as Resident at Lord Howe's Island, for selling liquor to the natives without a lioense. The South Australian Parliament was opened to-day by his Excellency the Governor, who, in his speech on the occasion, announced that a . ill would shortly be introduced to authorise the remitting of on <- third of the year's interest due by selectors, owing to the failure of the wheat crop during the past season.
