CRICKET. ALL-ENGLAND V. SOUTH AUSTRALIA. Adelaide, 16th November.

The match All-England against South Australia was commenced to-day. The weather is splendid, though rather breezy. The attendance is very large. The Englishmen were first to go to the batting. Up to lunch time no wicket had been lost, and Ulyett had scored 24, Jupp 7, which with one wide left the total at that stage 32. The patient batting of Jupp and the fine free play of Ulyett are greatly admired. Ulyett was eventually got rid of for 28, caught Millard, bowled King. Jupp, having earned 35, was caught by his bowler, Whitridge. Two wickets for 88. The next to disappear from the scene of action was Charlwood, who, after scoring 3 only, was caught by Bright off Whitridge. Three wickets for 98. The vacancy was filled by Greenwood, who, however, had put but two "to the account when he was bowled by Whitridge, the fourth wicket thus falling for 101. Pooley was caught by Morcom on Whitridge for 3. Five wickets for 109. When the stumps were drawn at 6 o'clock Selby was notoutfor3s. Emmettnotout, nil. Total, lll.
