McLean, assistant steward on the steamer Australasian, went on board early thia morning. He quarrelled with the steward (Thomas Gonlson) and etabbed him in the breast, Ooulaon dying ill a few minutes. When arrested MoLean Stated he was drunk. Oouhon pulled him out of hie bank, and nearly smothered him. He then used the knife in self-defence, not intending to kilt the man.
