SHORT-WEIGHT TEA.

[to thb editob.J

Sib,—Upon reading the'BjUXTf' Thm«~ — GEAPU this evening , I notioed a letter about \ butter and its weight. I had oooasion recently to weigh a box of tea which Iβ euppoaod to oontain five pounds and is marked outside as suoh. For some months I have been having these boxes. When I weighed it I found that it only held four pounds, and therefore have always paid for one pound of tea which I have never had. In case others are being cheated in the same manner, I hope you will insert thif, as there is enough duty to pay without undei weight. How ie it the Customs have allowed this swindle to go on so long? Iβ it because . they get the duty on the supposed extra pound ?—I am, &3., HOTJSEWIFfI. [We have struck out the brand of tea named by our correspondent, but as it ie *, advertised and energetically pushed looally, we recommend all purchasers to prevent themeelves hiing imposed on by weighing their purchases of tea.; —Editor Dim Telkgeaph J
