In tho Refuge at present there aro 29 men and 3 women. In receipt of out-door relief there aro o men, 22 women, and 50 children.

The Napier Rinking Club was largely attended at all sessions pn Saturday, and those who havo not yet tried the floor would do well to do bo as it is par excellence ono of tho best in Napier.

Some timo ago a man named Kyle was severely injured by a fall from a bridgo in course of construction on the Rangitikei-Moawhangoa-road. . Word of the accident was sont to tho E.M. who forwarded the letter to the Mayor, who at onca took eteps to despatch a doctor to the man's assistance. The bill for twenty-one pounds has now been received, und the question haa arisen, who is to bear tho oxpeneo, as tho Charitablo Aid Poard naturally object to it falling to their lot ?
