Creditors' Meeting.

A meeting of creditors in tho bankrupt estate of W. Lord, of Taradalo, hotclkeopor, was held at the Courthouse this morning, Thoro was a good attendance of creditors. Mr Dick appeured for tho debtor, and Mr Logan for a creditor. Tho statement showed unsecured creditors at . £-138 16s, scoured creditors £3322 12s Bd, I (estimated value of securities, . £3900) assets, book debts £370 13s 9d, estimated to produce £120, horae £3, three cows £12, loose boxes and othor improvements £115, surplus from securities in hands of securod creditors £577 7s 4d, total assefa £827 7e 4d, surplus £388 12h -Id. The bankrupt was examined at length as to his affairs by tho Assignee. The Htatemont he had handed in was a truo and correct ono, and that during the timo tho hotel was being altered Mr Bwan had charged him £5 per week us rent. He went into business in July 1880, Banked with the Union, but he had omitted to give the Assignee tho book. When ho went into tho hotel thoro was no second mortgage over the freehold property. Beforo the Land Court sat tho i average takings wero about £30 a week, and during the Land Court sittings the takings wero larger, from £40 to £100 per week. The rent and expenses came to about £20 a week. It was decided to adjourn till Monday next, the debtor to produce a statement of his trading, showing the whole of hia receipts and expenditure.
