Morrison did another ran, but was brought down by McJtse in the Combined** quarters. . Swan relieved his line, but passed to an opponent. Some scrums followed, and then Swan, once more relieved his territory. Wi Hape got on speed, but was brought down by Corbett. Ohilds and Whetu did a y dribble into the Reps, quarters, but Jack Ross regained thY i"' - ground by kicking into touch past the halfway flag. Harden, in passing, allowed Patterson to tret the ball,- who almost soored, and the Combined wero ,forced down. Half-time was called with the ball in the quarters of the Combined. By open play, tho Reps, relieved their territory, and Wi " Hape kicked into touch ,in the Repe. twenty-five. • Hughes did: a dribble, and ' Patterson a run, the latter passing to Ross, ' who was collared by Wi Hapo near tho * Combined's goal-line. A kick into touch at the centre flag changed the scene of play, and tho Reps, wore forced down. The Reps, were onoo more forced down, andtime was called. ScoreReps. .. .. .. 1 point Combined.. ~ ~ 1 point The Reps, played their emergencies, and also had to take on "an outsider to complete the team, thus weakening the original team to some extent. Tneir forward play was up to average, and their backs wore combined. The punts and dashes of the halves were quick, and the passing of the three-quarters was excellent, but their pots at goal wore weak. The Combined forwards' play was the bost, assisted by Stewart and Cuthbert, but the passing was awful, as on most occasions an opponent got tho ball through the players not looking to whom they passed. The collaring of both teams was fair.
