The trial of the equity suit, George Meredith Pell, a farmer of Southland, versus Joseph Clarke, has commenced here. The land of these and other parties was sold to Sir Julius Vogcl's New Zealand Agricultural Company for £1,080,000 Mr Pell now claims that the sum of £887,000 is still due to him on claim account (sic.)
