Mr. W. 0. Roberts, for nine years manager of the Bank of New Zealand on the West Coast, takoa the management of the Dunedin branch in the same aervice, in a few days. He was presented at a banquet with a souvenir of plate, value £250. The banquet given was the largest ever held on the West CoaBt. The tine chestnut colt Gladiator by the celebrated Gladiateur, the winner of the Derby and the St. Leger, &c, out of Fatima, haB been purohased for Mr. John Shield, of "Wanganui. Gladiator was imported from England by Mr. John Moffatt, ot Victoria, and was purchased as a yearling for 450 guineas.
