RELIGIOUS MEMORANDA.

[From October 2 to November 2 ] The anniversary services in connection with the Pitt-street Wesleyan Church were held on October 6, Ihe Rev. J. Berry preached in the morning, selecting for his text Psalm Ivii., 7-10 j and in the evening from Galatians vi., 7 : "Be not deceived : God is not mocked, for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." The Rev. J. Buller conducted divine service also in the afternoon, and gave an excellent discourse from Psalm lxxxvii., S : "And of Zion it shall be Baid, This and that man •was born in her : and the Highest Himself shall establish her." Collections on behalf of the trust fund were made at the close of each service, which amounted to £32 3*. 4d. The public soiree was held on October 8, and proved eminently successful. A ■tatement of the financial condition of the church was laid before those present. Several clergymen of different denominations addressed the meeting. The anniversary services and soiree at the Wesleyan Church, Waiuku, took place on Sunday and Tuesday, October 13th and 15th. The Eev. W. Whewell, district pastor, and the Eev. J. Warren, of Onehunga, preached in the church on October 13th, to large and attentive oongregations. On October 15th, the annual tea meeting took place, the trays being gratuitously provided by the ladies of the congregation and friends. Major Speedy occupied the chair, and addresses were delivered during the evening by Mr. Barriball, Rev. J. Warren, Rev. J. Whewell, Mr. Vincent Walters, Mr. Worthington, and the Secretary, Mr. Hamlin, who read the report, to the effect that there were forty children now attending the school, with ten teachers. The library consisted of 196 volumes, and there was a balance in the Treasurer's hands of £3 2s. 2d. The choir, under the leadership of Mr. May, executed several .musical seleotiona during the evening with much ability. The adjourned meeting of the Auckland Presbytery, to consider the question respecting the proposed change of the site on which to erect a church for St. David's congregation, was held on the 23rd of October, in St. Andrew's Church t The Rev. J. Hill, Ex-Moderator, presided. The consideration of the subject occupied the Presbytery nearly three hours, and the arguments in favour of the proposed Bifce,and for retaining the Bite at present occupied, were in substance the same as were urged at the previous meeting, a full report of which we published on the 19th. Mr. Bruce proposed to raise a sufficient sum to liquidate the debt, and relieve the congregation of all liabilities connected with Symondsstreet, on condition of their erecting their proposed church on the site connected therewith. This generous and liberal offer was unanimously accepted by the Presbytery, and it was agreed that the deputation should submit the proposal to St. David's congregation, for their favourable consideration. The anniversary of the opening of the Onehunga Congregational Chapel, Princes-street, will be celebrated on Sunday, the lObh November, when the Rev. J. Warren will preach iD the morning at 11 o'clock, and the Rev. G-. Brown will officiate in the evening at 6 o'clock. Collections will be made at the close of each service. On .November 13, a tea meeting will be held, in the school-room, at 0 o'clock ; followed by a public meeting, at 7 o'clock, when addresses will be delivered by several clergymen and and other friends, and a selection of sacred music performed,
