: 9 By Telegraph-Press ABaooiation-Copyriirht The Women's Organising Coinniltcce, of the Australian labour Party in Melbourne has adopted a suggestion to the effect that when shopping Labour women should ask to be attended to by unionists only. A message from Sydney states that Mr. A. W. Cony, Director of the Commonwealth and Dominion lines, has been elected chairman of tho Overseas Shipping Association, in succession to Sir Owen Cox. In the shape of a machine, the New South Wales Agricultural Department has tested the latest claim to the solution of the troublesome question of determining the sex of eggs. Out of sixteen eggs which tho machine indicated contained males, eight produced males and eight femalos. Of twenty-one olhcrs which t,he machine declared females, thirteen yielded males and eight females. The report on the test makes no comment.
