PAGEANT, CAENIVAL. & BAZAAR. Tho committee ot tho Boys' Institute is naturally jubilant at the success of its historical pageant and bazaar, iu face of tho many difficulties it had to contend with, not tho least of which was tho strike. A number of gentlemen have set thomselvcs the task of raising tho baianco required to enable it to secure the last £500, which will bring tho total up £2500. The gentlemen aro, Messrs. C. 11. Smith, J. Smith, J. Elision, J. W. Black, O. S. Moore, Gerald Silver, A. Walker, D. Menzics, A. Johnstone, J. Alaofarlano, Lcuctiars, C. Dick, L. AVatkins, W. Baaden, J. M. Morice, U. Mackonzio, G. A. Troup, W. J. Bannett, and W. Mabin. Already a considerable sum has been colleotetf, which will be duly acknowledged in a future issue. The takings at tho pageant wore:' —Gate monoy, £380;-tea tent, £65; stalls,. £52; reserved seats, £45; side shows, programmes, etc., £116; total; £054, not including ticket money, which, it is hoped, will at least pay tho expenses of the pageant. The takingß at tho bazaar were:—Entranoo money, side Bhows, etc., <£160; president's stall (Including tobacco), £84; refreshment stall, which also took £55 at Newtown Park, £50; flower stall, £57; sweet stall, £51; plain stall,' £95; plain and fancy stall, £85; fancy stall, £41; art stall, £66; baby stall, £89: handkerchief and d'oyloy, £30; men's mercery, £11; doll stall, £46; toy stall, £32; book stall, £17; apron stall, £24; two produce stalls, £77; jam stall, £14 ; cako stall, £70; cold drinks, £16; jumble stall, £44; woodwork stall, £7; total, £1146. As soon as tho expenses are all ascertained, the committees will be asked to meet to pass the bal-ance-sheets, when it is hoped to show a clear balance from .nil sources of £2500.' It is requested that all accounts not paid be sent in at onco, as well as all returns for sales of tickets, to tho office, over Bothune's auction room, to ensure a speedy winding-up. The oommittee desires to expresß its warm thanks and appreciation to all who, by their services, helped to mako such a success of both efforts.
