Hunter Brown publishes in tlio local paper a disclaimer that tho people of Wairoa do not desiro tho prosecution of the Gisborne-Wairoa-Na-picr railway, as stated by .Mr. Pearce, M.P., in tlio Houso of Representatives in tho discussion on tho Loaai Bill. Tlio Chamber of Commerce also denies that tho people evt"- expressed liosfcility to the lino, bnt need it very much to develop tho back country.
