The weather forecast for Canterbury, issued at 5 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue, is as follows; Fresh north-easterly to norlhi crly winds. Weather fair and I mild. Seas slight to moderate. * WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is;— Moderate northerly winds predominating, and freshening somewhat. Some scattered morning drizzle, but weather otherwise fair to cloudy and mild. Seas moderate. DOMINION The Dominon forecast is:— Weather continuing fair to cloudy generally, except for some scattered morning drizzle. Temperatures mild to warm. An extensive anti-cyclone centred over New Zealand is moving slowly eastward, and a shallow disturbance is located east of Tasmania. Winds—Over the North Island light to moderate and variable; over the South Island, moderate to fresh northerlies prevailing. Seas (New Zealand waters) —Slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea—Light to moderate northerly winds soon prevailing, and gradually freshening in the south. Seas, slight or moderate. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather was fine and sunny yesterday, with a moderate north-east breeze. The maximum temperature was 64.1 degrees. At 1 o’clock this morning the sky was overcast and a fresh north-east breeze was blowing. The temperature was 54 degrees. The barometer, falling, registered . 30.141n (1020.7 millibars).
