£750 NEEDED
YOUNG MEN’S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION FUNDS FOR DEVELOPMENT OF WORK It was reported at a recent meeting of the board of directors of the Young Men’s Christian Association that £750 was required this year, in addition to ordinary donations and membership fees, to enable the association to consolidate its extension work and efficiently develop its central work. Extension work had begun at Hornby and Rangiora, and would soon be started at New Brighton. Advice was received from the Christchurch City Council that Wednesday, June 22, had been allocated for a street appeal on the association’s behalf. Messrs T. Charters, J. £. Flem-
ing, T. Evans, and F. Thompson were appointed an organising committee, and Messrs J. L. Hay, F. H. Walls, and J. J. Staples a publicity committee. Mr L. T. K. Allison will be organiser. To ensure a successful appeal, a large number of helpers would be required and it was decided to make an appeal for assistance in this way.
