HARBOUR BOARD EMPLOYEES

THE EDITOR OW THE PRESS. Sir, —I hope I shall not be misunderstood in declining to continue a discussion with your correspondent Hiram Hunter. To me, it seems futile to continue such a course with , a man who has been charged, and having admitted that he fired at one target and missed it, but having hit another, claims to have “registered a bull’s eye.” I suggest to him that his time would be much more usefully spent round the rubbish dumps of .the city than asking silly questions and making stupid, inane remarks about Socialism, and people “in the bathroom.” In conclusion, may I be permitted to express my gratitude for his statement that he “was not one of the Socialist Red Hag Brigade.” His present treachery then is only to the political and industrial Labour movement, of which he was a paid secretary for many years.—Yours, etc.. j. a. McCullough. June 9, 1938.
