REEVE BEATS NICOL ON POINTS
(PESSS ASSOCIATION TELXQBAU..) PALMERSTON NORTH, Feb. 14. Harold Reeve, the challenger, secured a points decision over Ray Nicol (Invercargill), in a light-heavy-weight championship bout at Pahiatua tonight. It was a case of a good little man beating a good big man. Reeve is a stone lighter and inches shorter In reach. Nicol, with spoiling tactics and making poor use o£ his reach, kept the fight very close, and it was not until the eleventh round that Reeve was able to find a long-range target. From then on Reeve had much the better of the fight, and won by a decisive margin. He had Nicol down for one second earlier in the fight. There was a packed house, and the new titleholder was enthusiastically acclaimed.
