The secretary reported that 26 school commitees were affiliated with the asso- ; ciation. A suggestion from the Poerua | school that if through the sickness of ; I a teacher at a one-teacher school a ] [ relieving teacher was sent to the I school, that relieving teacher should I be retained till the end of the year. j was placed in remit form to be sent in to the conference of the Dominion i Federation of School Committees. AuI other remit it was decided to forward I was "That school committees be given | the right to select teachers, whose ap- ! pointments would then be confirmed ' by the Education Board." i Competitions ■ So numerous are the entries for the > West Coast competitions this year that the executive has found it necessary to engage a third hall, I Loyal Grcyinouth Lodge There was a good attendance of ' members and visitors at the fortnightly I meeting of the Loyal Greymouth ! Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0. F. N.G. Bro. V. 'D. Stevens presided. An impromptu debate was held among P.D.G.M. Bro. 1 F. Congreve and P.G. Bro. W. Green i and Bro. W. Long and Bro. J. Brail.s----j Cord, the subject being "That girls i should be barred from obtaining comj mercial employment unless supporting i dependents." Kaiata School Committee At the monthly meeting of the Kaiata j School Committee, Mr J. Robertson i presided. It was agreed that the school, which j has been closed because of measles. I should reopen on Wednesday. Team Walks Off Field !
