POULTRY FANCIERS
MEETING OF CHRISTCHURCH CLUB The fortnightly meeting of the Christchurch Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Club was held in the Fanciers' Hall last night. Mr R. Pearce presided over a good attendance of members. The Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association wrote asking for nominations for judges for the poultry section at the November show. The letter was referred to the South Island j Poultry Association. j The secretary reported that the new | rings had been received and a price] was fixed for their sale. Birds rung; with these rings will be eligible for, competition in the club's challenge; stakes. A percentage of the profit on i the rings would be allotted for special I prizes. . , ~,.■,! It was decided to register all birds j rung with these rings. In the event of j a breeder selling any rung bird, the j onus would be on the seller to notify I the club and pay a fee of 6d a bird j for registration. It was also pointed out that the purchasers of such birds should see that the birds were registered in their names. The association's inter-club Victory Shield, which was compel d for at the recent Rangiora show, was presented to the winner, Mr G. H. Bradford.
