advancing from Australia on to the Tasman Sea. Winds—Westerly at first over the North Island; elsewhere southerly, with southeriies soon becoming general. Force moderate to strong. Seas (New Zealand waters)— Rather rough to rough. Eastern Tasman Sea—Moderate to fresh south-west winds; rather rough seas. Weather—Changeable, with passing showers in most districts, and hail on parts of the coast. Cold temperatures, improving soon, however, on the West Coast o? the South Island, and gradually elsewhere.
