CANTERBURY CHAMPIONSHIPS BEGUN The first game of the Canterbury amateur billiards championship was played at the Returned Soldiers' Association rooms last night between M. Sisson, of Christchurch Working Men's Club, and C. Barnes, of the Richmond Working Men's Club. Sisson won by 300 to 278 after a very interesting finish, the pair keeping together throughout the game. Sisson made breaks of 20. 24, 30. and Barnes 20 and 29. The next game will be played in the Post and Telegraph Social Club rooms to-night between J. Allen, Christchurch Working Men's Club, and G. Young, of the Christchurch Working Men's Club, at 7.30 o'clock.
