Mr O'Cal- ] j laghan was a married man, of 56 years. < I The inquest was opened before Mr < j 11. A. Young, coroner, yesterday after- i noon. Evidence of identification was given by a son, Stanley Allen O'Callaghan, who said he had lived at home with his father. He stated that his father had not been sleeping well lately, and had been run down through over-work. His father had left home shortly after 10 o'clock on Sunday evening, and as he had not returned after a reasonable time, enquiries were made, and the matter was reported to ■ the police. Constable Anderson stated that he ■ had found the body in the Waimaka-. ; riri river shortly after noon yesterj day, at a spot near John's road, BelI fast. j The inquest was adjourned sine die, j so that other evidence could be called.
