ENGLISH MILK POOL
PLAN FAVOURED BY MOST FARMERS (BRITISH Oi'PICIAL WIRELESS.) RUGBY, September 6. By an overwhelming majority 150,000 farmers of, England and Wales have declared themselves in favour of the Government's milk marketing scheme, under which the sale and collection of milk are to be controllel by a board. The result of the poll farmers recently taken on the proposed formation of national and regional milk pools was announced to-day by the National Farmers' Union, as follows: In favour, 96.42 per cent. Against, 3.58 per cent. On the basis of the figures declared by registered producers the number of cows at August 19 last was 1,556,848. Registered producers who voted in favour of the scheme possess 96.61 per cent, of these cows and those who voted against own 3.39 per ecnt.
