A meeting of farmers will he held in the Yaldhurst School on Monday at 8 p.m., for the purpose of forming a branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union. A general warning that unemployment tax stamps must bo attached to all wages schedules was given by the deputy-chairman of the Unemployment Board, Mr J. S. Jessep, during his recent visit to Napier. . The Act was being enforced, said Mr Jessep, and severe penalties would be imposed on employers failing to affix unemployment tax stamps to wages book. The Board, he said, was seriously concerned in respect to this matter, and in order to protect the unemployment funds it had lately been found necessary to arrange for departmental inspectors and other officers whose business takes them about tho country to make a rigid inspection of the wages bookß of employers, both in towns and in the rural districts. He added that postage stamps were not sufficient;' the proper stamp for the purpose must be used.
