MUNICIPAL THEATRE.

*—_ "THE TERROR» Like its predecessor, "The Terror," now being presented at the Municipal Theatre by Mr Maurice Moscovitch and company, prei seats a baffling mystery to the audience. It : is, however, an entirely different type of ! story, except that here, too, is a sinister fig- | uro that, under the name of "The Terror," skulks in the form of a hooded monk through darkened rooms and mysterious passages, bringing an atmosphere of death and dread. Truly it is a more terrifying play than "The Ringer," for it becomes plain that hero there is some really fieudish influence at work, and ■ every one in turn is suspected of the ghastly ; murders. But it is impossible to say who the grim character is until the story works up to its climax. There is not one member of the company who fails to achieve the high standard set by the opening play, and it is safe to predict that the remainder of tho season will be quite as successful as has been tho case up till now. The characters and tho artists are as follows:—Warder Timins, Carleton Stuart; Bennett, Reg. Carey; Stein, Frank Ditson; Chief Warder Joyce, Ray Smith; Deputy-Governor Major Craddock, Herbert Leigh; Joo Connor, Hal Percy; Superintendent Hallick, Reginald Newsoh; Soapy Marks, Nat Madison; Cotton, Ashton Jarry; William Goodman, Guy Hastings; Veronica Elvery, Mary Macgregor; Mrs Elvery. Mildrod Cottell; Colonel Redmayne, Patrlc Curwen; Mary Redmayne, Bertha Riccardo; Ferdinand Fano, Maurice Moscovitch; P.O. Starr, Jack Dunne; Superintendent Aske, Richard Webster; Sergeant Dobey, George Blunt; Dotoo-tive-Constable Smith, Richard Fair; warders, convicts, etc. ~ "The Terror" will bo played until Monday night.
