TIENTSIN.
SITUATION CRITICAL. BRITAIN MAY BE INVOLVED. (UNITED FBESS ASSOCIATION—BX ELECTRIC : TELEGRAPH—COPIBiaHT.) TOKIO, June 7. Chang Tso-lin's condition is reported to be improved, although still critical. There -are. most critical situations around Tientsin, where upwards of 8000 partly-disorganised Shantung and Chihli troops threaten to break through the international defence. It is feared that the Chinese and Japanese forces defending, the section of Tientsin around the east station may clash any time. This would mean that other international forces, including the American and British, are likely, soon to be involved. —Australian Press Association, United Service.
