Ferguson, Consul for Belgium, was appointed deputy-dean succeeding the late Mr. John Pagni, Consul for -Italy. Sympathetic reference to the death of Mr Pagni was made by M. Paul Serre, dean. A warm welcome to three new members of the- corps, Mr J-.A. C. Allum,.Consul for Switzerland, Mr Norman Heath,' Consul for Latvia, and Mr J; H.'Mitchell, Vice-Consul for Sweden, was extended by the dean. The knighthood conferred on Sir George Fowlds was the subject of congratulatory reference,at the last meeting of the Mount Albert Borough Council. Mr P. Floyd, in moving that a letter of congratulation should be sent to Sir George, said the council was-deeply grateful for the work he had done for the borough. Tho Mayor, Mr L..
