DAYLIGHT SAVING.
AN ADVERSE RESOLUTION.
(FBBSS ASSOCIATION TIUOKAII.) TIMARXT, May 22. At the Provincial Conference of the Farmers' Union here to-dlay Mr J. Bitchener, M.P. for Waitaki, was reelected president for the ensuing year. In the course of his address Mr Bitchener said the past year was the best the agriculturist and pastoralist had enjoyed for some years, and, given two or three such years, the man on the land) would be solidly established. He referred in terms of approval to the sliding scale of duties on wheat, and said the Government was entitled to the gratitude of producers for this measure of protection to the wheatgrowing industry. Among the resolutions passedl was one condemning Mr Sidey's Daylight Saving Bill and asking that it be not re-enacted.
