CONCILIATION COUNCIL.
CANTERBURY DRIVERS' APPLICATION. A sitting of tho Conciliation Council yesterday heard an application from the Canterbury Drivers'. and Related Trades' Industrial Union of Workers for a, new award on the lines of the Dominion award, which obtains everywhere except Christchurcli. The employers filed counter proposals. [ The Commissioner (Mr W. H. Hagger) presided. Tho assessors for the employers xrer& Messrs AY. Havward, Geo. Dickinson, iiul AY. Cecil Prime, and for tho employees Messrs E. Parlane and T. Lewis. Agreement was reached on all clauses except those dealing with overtime, holidays, wages, and the term of the award, and these will lie referred to the, Arbitration Caurt for settlement.
