SANDERS CUP.
AUCKLAND NOT IN FAVOUR OF MR HISLOP'S SCHEME. (PBBSS ASSOCIATION TZLEGB»M.) AUCKLAND, May 22. The Auckland Yacht and Motor-boat Association to-night discussed the proposal by Mr J. Hislop, of Auckland, regarding tho Sanders Cup contest, to the effect that there should be six new boats., all built by one builder, and of the same type as the present boats', and, that the contest should be confined to these boats, each province to have one. The Association resolved: That tho adoption of the suggestion would prejudice the class, inasmuch as it would discourage the building of boats, the 1 incentive of the chance of selection as a representative being absent. That it would exclude all existing boats, and would thus bo unfair to those which iu all respects had fully complied with the plans and specifications. That all boats should bo measured by the Dominion measurers appointed by the conference,- and that any boat which does not comply with the plans and specifications should be disqualified from taking part. That it is desirable that a minimum weight for each boat should be adopted.
