A large colony of apes, owned by Mme. Rosalie Abreu, of Havana, has been filmed by a cinema company in co-operation with the department of anthropology at Harvard University as a step in the making of a series of educational films, on anthropological subjects. Mme. Abreu's collection of apes was started about 30 years ago, and now' contains 130 simians of 25 species. One of the 12 chimpanzees screened proved to be a real film actor, and instead of walking like his mate? he continually stood erect, "showing off" before~~tne camera.
