An ancient stone implement found at Easton Nab, near Middlesborough, Yorkshire, by Mr F. Elgee, curator of the Dorman Museum, is believed to be the oldest relic of the early ages yet found in the county. It has been inspected by well-known archaeologists, and is thought to be about 75,000 years old. It is thought that the discovery establishes for the first time the existence of a race of sub-human being in Northern Britain, a race unmistakably human in tendency though not at that time in the true line of man.
