A conference between representatives of the City Council and the Tramwaymen's Union to discuss the basis on which the payment of the overtime rate should be made, concluded its sittings last evening. A basis of agreement, it is understood, iias been arrived at bv the parties, under tho presidency of Mr Newton, Conciliation Commissioner.
