Speaking at a civic welcome, Dr. Morrison strongly urged the development of Australian trade with China. Failing the appointment of a resident agent, he suggested that Australia should send a general Commission of Enquiry. Recent happenings had cleared the atmosphere In regard to China's treaty obligations, and any attempt in the direction he suggested would have a warm welcome from the Chineso authorities.
