RIOT RISKS FOR NEW ZEALAND.
(-BOX OUR OWN COKRESrONBXN-). • LONDON, November 12,
New Zealand has figured a < good deal in bad company lately, especially, in quotations ot"insurance. For? some days we have been classed in bold headlines with Mexico as a field for riot risks, and the "Financial Times" the other day rounded up Mexico, New Zealand, Venice,- Portugal, and Ulster altogether as biadere for riot insurance. As a matter : of ,fadl 7 NeVv Zealand stands fairly well in tl__ H category. ".In point of volume,*, .says.'*__e-T__nes," "New Zealand has' so far■ "brotiglit the largest share of riot insurance business," although the premiums have been based on a more moderate scale than Mexican risks. Underwriters do not regard the state of industriaTunrest in New. Zealand as very grave, although they do not minimise the danger of strikes and riots spreading. * ... . So far the most favourable terms for riot policies _have been granted to New Zealand shippers doing a regular business at Llyod's in connexion with t-teir customary marine contracts.**
