RANGIORA HIGH SCHOOL.

Tho distribution of prizes at tho Ermgiora High School took placo yesterday afternoon, when there waa a large gathering of parents and others interested in the school. In connexion with tho break-up athletic sports w-ero held, and will in future be an annual fixture. The sports programme wao commenced on Thursday afternoon, and comoicted yesterday before the prizes were distributed. A floral display was made in one of the class rooms, prizes being given for decorated baskets, vases of flowers, and decorated paraeols. Thero waa a largo number of exhibits, and the display was an effective and tasteful one. Owing to tho eporta occupymg moro time than anticipated, the customary speech-making was of the briefest character. Mr R. Ball, chairman of the Board of Governors, presided, and open«*d the proceedings with a short address, in th-i course of which he said that excellent work had be<m done in tbo school during tho year, tbo examination results having been most satisfactory. Short addresses were also given by tho Hon. D. Buddo, _Ir J. Sansom (Mayor of Rangiora), Mr E. 11. Good, Mr S. A. Clark (instructor in agriculture), and Mr T. R. Cresawcll (principal of tho school).
