RANGIORA.
Recent transactions in wheat .point to a steady market. Although the enqniry is small, the offerings from farmers are light, hence the fact that millers requiring sorting-up lines are prepared to pay full rates for first-class quality. Sales have been made of Tuscan, Hunters, and Bordier up to 3s 7d. This prieo is in advance of values for Home shipment, and, no doubt, will be well-maintained until the harvesting of next season's grain. Oats remain firm at late rates, and higher money is expected owing to ihe fact that there are not any held, by local growers, and many have to buy feed for their horses while ploughing, etc. Potatoes remain exceedingly inactive, 32s 6d for table Dates, and 35s /or table Donvents, being the highest rates. Seed lines arc not much enquired for, ,35s being the price for seod Dates. Other lines are neglected. Chaff is firm at £4 7s 6d per ton for best bright, clean, heavy lots.
