tion, at a satisfactory price, the Buoclench Estate, at Mount Somers, consisting of 6506 acres freehold land. The purchaser is Mr J. M. Parte, of Dunsandel, the wellknown breeder .of stud Leicester sheep, and his purchase includes all the sheep, live and dead stock, Ac., on the estate. At the Oxford yards on Thursday there was an entry ot 3500 sheep, and competition was brisk. " Prices were—332 twotooth wethers 13a lOd; 214,d0 14s lOd, 264 merino wethers 8» Sd, 300 do 9s 3d, fat twe*toothß 15s 9d, store do ,12s to 14s 7d, fat lambs XOauto lis 3d, store do 9s to 10s 3d, fat ewes 9s 6d to lis 6d, aged do 8s to 9s lid, aged merino ewes 7s. Cattle— Springers £4 10s to £6. At the autumn sales at Oxford on Friday there was ah entry of about 6000 sheep. Prices were—Fat lambs 12a to 13s 3d, store lambs 9a 8d to lis, fat wethers to 17s 2d, store, do 13s; 9d to 14s 6d, forward do 15s 3d, store maiden ewes 13s 3d to 14s, aged ewea in lamb 10s 4d, merino wethers 6s. There' was a large attendance at the Leeston sale on Friday, with aj flood entry j of stock in all departments. .The sale was chjeujknoticeable Jot the heavy drop in the pricopft-pigs, which amounted to 10a to 16s per head. One farmer at tho last sale withdrew a line of pigs at 49s per head, and yesterday, after feeding them for two weeks, ' sold them at a lesser price than formerly offered. A few fine fat cattle were yarded and sold fairly well. Dairy cows are Btill noticeably scarce. In sheep prices were fully maintained, with an active demand. Fat merinos m*de up to 8s 9d, crossbred ewes lis fid, sir and eight-tooth ewes 12s 7d, two-tooth ewes and wethers 12a lOd, store lambs 10s. In pigs, there was a large entry of stores and fat pigs. Stores —Werners 10s 6d to 16s, large stores 24s to 30s, baconers 38a to 4oV or 3£d lb. Cattle-Small stores 25s to 30s, large stores 755, fat cattle £5 5s to £7 65," dairy cows practically none offered.
