"GETTING EVEN" WITH THE QUEEN.
Tfye New York correspondent of the Daily Telegraph says that an' unpleasant incident occurred in the arrest for drunkenness of a British sailor belonging to her Majesty's cruiser Talbot. The man was taken before an Irish police magistrate, who committed him to gaol for three days in default of the payment of a three dollars' fine, the magistrate say in?, "This is how we get even 'with the Queen." When Admiral Erben, of the United States navy, heard of the circumstance he expressed the public sentiment of disgust in unmeasured terms, saying it was au unpardonable affront offered to British guests, and that seamen all the world over under the same circumstances were invariably cared for and returned to their ship, He obtained the immediate release of the sailor.
