A BANKING CHARGE.
The mk Banks doing business in Western Australia have resolved, on and after Ist July, to make a small charge, under certain conditions, for keeping customers' accounts. Many of these accounts are so small that they are really a lo3s to the Banks for the clerical time and the stationery consumed. On tho opening of a current account a charge of 10s 6(1 is to be made. Should tho balance at the credit of any customer fall below £50 for throe consecutive days during the currency of any half-year, a further charge of 10a 6d is to be made. Under existing circumstances the departure i_ a reasonable oue.
