COATS
are usually braided in the military style. ff"be Viennese Hussar design, done in black •ilk braid, an inch and a-half wide, and narrower braid of the same make, appears on •Jl the smartest, and very trim it looks. Many coats, however, are simply finished with strapping and machine stitchings, the fine braiding being reserved for coats made with skirts to match, which are in the minority; for though these convenient costumes still enjoy popularity, they are less fashionable than the gowns made with jacket bodices, which I have mentioned so often of late.
